Informations
Greater North Central Francophone Education Region No.2 is a francophone school district in Alberta with 2,800 students attending our 14 francophone - catholic or public - schools in Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Jasper, Legal, Red Deer, St. Albert and Wainwright. We offer many advantages, to list only a few: free bus transportation, full-time kindergarten, on-site preschool, daycare/after-school care in various schools. French first language education is intended for children who are eligible under section 23 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Studies and experience have shown that francophone schooling is the most effective way for a francophone child living in a minority setting to become highly proficient in French AND in English. To find out whether francophone schooling is for you, please contact a school principal or the school board office.
