In addition to training as a marriage and family therapist, Janet has a background in counselling education with over twenty years experience with adolescents and their families. In the most recent years, her focus has been working with individuals, couples, and families in a clinical setting. She has a particular interest in working with couples and families using an emotionally-focussed therapy approach. Her work experience has included diversity in age groups, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, spiritual belief systems, and sexual orientations, and she welcomes the richness that diversity brings to her practice.Janet also enjoys working with children, engaging them (and their parents) in therapeutic play using puppets, dolls, games, drawing, and sand tray activities. She is able to relate well to adolescents and recognizes their many strengths, adventurous spirits, and sense of loyalty to friends so often found in that age group.
