Edward Young had a dream to start his own business and Maple Leaf Stamp & Stencil became his dream in 1932. Maple Leaf Stamp & Stencil operated from the 2nd floor of the Birt Saddlery building. His wife Frances became part of the business and moved the company to 171 Garry Street. Norman Young, their son, joined Frances in 1956. Together they moved the company once more to 618-A Erin Street in 1981, and with that a Company name change; Maple Leaf Rubber Stamp Ltd. Frances retired in 1982 and Norman carried on with the business until 1998. In 1998, Norman wanted to retire, so he sold the company to his employees. With the change in management, the company's name changed to Maple Leaf Rubber Stamp (1998) Ltd. The business stayed on Erin Street for a few more years, then, in 2008, it was moved once more to its current location on Richard Avenue.
