Surveyors often have acronyms or titles after their names, some are self invented, some are irrelevant , some can be purchased and some are genuinely earned. There are surveyors who claim to be Accredited (SAMS®) and/or Certified (NAMS). Check the SAMS® and NAMS® rosters to be sure of who you are dealing with. Thoroughly check out every qualification claimed. If imagined qualifications are their standard of integrity, where else will they fall short. Remember you are putting you and your crews safety in their hands. I am a full time professional who pays dues to the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors®, American Boat & Yacht Council, BoatUS Technical Exchange and BoatUS Consumer Protection database. I annually enrol in continuing education courses required to maintain my AMS® status. There is no compromise when it comes to Your Safety.
