Typhoon Haiyan hit central Philippines on Friday November 8, taking thousands of lives and hundreds of thousands of people are missing or injured; destruction of habitats and infrastructures is widespread in the City of Tacloban (pop. 220,000) and surrounding villages.As a result of this terrible catastrophe, the President General, in the attached letter, has launched an international appeal for donations to assist Vincentians of the Philippines in their relief efforts.
